WalletHub, the relentless list-making website beloved by last-minute blog posters around the world, has just ranked Orlando as the Third Best City for Vegetarians and Vegans in the United States.

The list, based on a 2019 Harris Poll paid for by the Vegetarian Resource Group, ranked cities on the following categories:

  • Affordability – cost of groceries, number of highly-rated restaurants, average meal cost.
  • Diversity/Accessibility/Quality – share of veg-friendly restaurants, farmers markets and CSA programs per capita, juice and smoothie bars, salad shops, community gardens.
  • Vegetarian Lifestyle – percentage of people ordering vegetarian over the national average, vegetable and fruit consumption, number of meetups and festivals.

Orlando placed best in Percentage of Restaurants Serving Vegan Options and Salad Shops per Capita.

New York placed first in the WalletHub list and Portland came in second in 2016, this time we’ve been beet by Portland and Los Angeles.
