The 186th Oktoberfest kicked-off in Germany last month but here in Florida, things are just getting started.
The roots of the annual German beer-fest go way back to the wedding of Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen (trying saying that after a couple of boots full of brew) in 1810. A public wedding party lasted five days and ended with a freaking drunken horse race.
Today it’s just an excuse to oompa-loompa with your friends in some tasteful lederhosen though. Here’s a running list of local fests to check out in the Orlando area.
