UPDATE: Commercial properties are also affected by the restrictions and any non-residential property is permitted to water only on Tuesdays.

Every year when we change our clocks by one hour, Orange County imposes restrictions on irrigation.

As of November 3, Orange County residents are to restrict their irrigation timers to one day a week. This schedule remains in place until Daylight Savings Time returns on March 7, 2020.

Restrictions are based on odd and even-numbered addresses.

Homes with odd numbers can water on Saturday and homes with even-numbered addresses can water on Sunday. These restrictions apply to private wells and pumps, ground or surface water, and water from public and private utilities.

You are not to water between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

If found watering outside of the schedule for your address, you will be issued a warning for your first-time offense. The second time you will be issued a $25 fine and for every violation to follow. If you don’t pay within 30 days, the fine could be added to your water bill.
