The Rotary Club of Orlando launched its inaugural Chrismas Parade last year on Saturday, December 8, seeking to bring back an annual tradition that had vanished from downtown Orlando for decades.

But apparently that was just a tease as the Rotary Club officially announced on Monday, November 18 that it was canceling its 2019 parade.

Sitting Rotary president, Bill Peeper, declared that it is still the club’s intention to “… restore the holiday tradition of a Christmas parade in Downtown Orlando in December of 2020.”

A reason behind the cancelation of the event has not been given but Peeper’s letter makes it clear that event sponsorship is key to making the parade possible and that they have already begun fundraising for next year’s event.

Florida Citrus Sports recently announced that it would be discontinuing the annual Citrus Parade. More on that HERE.
