The Florida Department of Transportation has been designing corridor improvements along Orange Avenue from Grant Street to Gore Street, for like, ever.

In addition to resurfacing the roadway, a pending project will include the construction of curb extensions to define on-street parking areas, raised medians in certain locations along the corridor to improve safety for pedestrians and passing traffic, and enhanced pedestrian features in compliance with ADA standards.

The project also includes minor drainage improvements, new signing and marking features, as well as signal upgrades, pedestrian lighting, and decorative, colored crosswalks near the Pulse memorial.

FDOT will be hosting public meetings to ask for input in the coming months. The first was scheduled for November 19 at the Christ Church of Orlando.
