The following tips are provided by the City of Orlando.

Here are some tips to keep in mind before, during and after you make that yummy holiday meal:
 

  1.  Use your turkey fryer only outdoors on a level surface away from kids, pets and flammable objects.
     
  2.  A frozen turkey will cause hot oil to splatter – always defrost it first.
     
  3.  Determine the correct amount of oil needed by first placing the turkey in the pot with water.
     
  4.  Recycle the used cooking oil! Once cooled down, pour the grease into a shatterproof container and drop it off at any designated City of Orlando drop-off location
