Camden Lake Eola (Website) is a new apartment complex opening at 520 E. Church Street [GMap] in the South Eola neighborhood in early 2020.
City Council approved a plan that will allow short-term rentals in 125 units or roughly 30 percent of the apartments in the downtown development. Apartment Hotels (or apart-hotels) aren’t new and are seen as a way to help occupy new buildings while leasing teams attract new residents. WhyHotel (Website) will lease the units as hotel units and will have a concierge on-site.
Fully-furnished nits will be available for stays of up to a month-long and the agreement for WhyHotel to operate in Camden is expected to last two years after completion of construction. By keeping the window to two years, this ensures that the units will not be removed from the housing market in the long-term.
Camden Lake Eola is expected to open in mid-2020 with 360 apartments.
