Orange County Library System has begun offering a digital version of its library cards that can be stored in your phone, mobile checkout with interactive receipts, and a brand-new Express Collection to all library users through the cloudLibrary app.

With cloudLibrary, a user’s library card is just a touch away, eliminating the frustration of a forgotten or misplaced card. In addition, users can add multiple cards and switch between accounts with ease.

Users can favorite, mark as read, and sort and filter a digital record of their library borrow history. This helps Orange County Library System users manage the items they’ve borrowed and remember which books they’ve already enjoyed. The app also allows library users to view and cancel current hold items, renew currently borrowed materials, and receive due date reminder notifications – helping users avoid late fees and return items on time.

Mobile checkout eliminates the need to visit the selfCheck kiosk or circulation desk to borrow items. Using cloudLibrary, users can now check out materials using their own digital device.

The new service is offered at no cost to all library users, requiring only a valid library card. bibliotheca’s cloudLibrary app is available for free through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or by visiting www.yourcloudlibrary.com. Users will then need to follow the prompts and simply login using their library card number and PIN.
