The Downtown Arts District will host a special event on January 11 at 7 p.m. in the CityArts building to raise funds for an outdoor public event space concept.

Interstruct, Inc. (Website), is designing a new outdoor event space in a service alley that surrounds this historic Rogers Kiene Building, that Downtown Arts District (DAD) moved into last year.

The current vision for the alleyway is to activate and transform it into a public courtyard where the organization can host their programming.

THE PROJECT WOULD INCLUDE THE ALLEY DIRECTLY TO THE NORTH OF THE BUILDING AS WELL AS THE SERVICE ALLEY BEHIND THE BUILDING AND WOULD CONNECT EAST PINE STREET TO EAST CENTRAL BOULEVARD.

The event, Ford-ify the Arts, will also serve as a tribute to Ford Kiene, the previous owner of the building, who donated it to the City last January. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased HERE.

CityArts is located at 39 S. Magnolia Avenue [GMap].
