A local firm is looking to purchase a downtown lot by Lake Eola in order to erect an eight-story luxury hotel.

MMI Development (Website) is still in the early stages of developing a master plan for its hotel development but is expected to submit something formal to the City of Orlando in the next couple of months.

The 0.68-acre site in question currently hosts a single-story building that houses Orlando Game Space (Website), a gamer-specific coworking space at 421 E. Robinson Street [GMap].

Current plans for the hotel call for a 107-foot-tall building with 150 units managed by an unnamed national four-star chain, buffered from the surrounding neighborhood by three-story luxury townhomes facing Ridgewood Street.

Again, this project is in its very early stages and will likely see many more changes prior to heading to the Municipal Planning Board for approval this spring.
