The Orlando Magic wants to buy a city-owned parking lot in Parramore so they can build a new facility roughly a quarter-of-a-mile away from the Amway Center.

The planned 100,000 SF facility would include an orthopedic center and community health component but mainly be used as a basketball training facility.

The property, located at 522 W. Central Boulevard [GMap] is already partially owned by Orlando Magic, Ltd., but the City of Orlando owns roughly 2.58-acres of it. The fair market value of the remaining slice of property is valued at $5.1 million.

The deal with the City requires Orlando Magic to file for building permits within six months of purchasing the property.
