March is recognized as Women’s History Month, and the library is embracing the achievements of women from all walks of life and corners of the world with a variety of programs. Multiple library branches will host Pow-HER-ful, a program for children to learn about some of history’s famous women and the commonality they share. See below for dates and times.
On March 25, visit Orlando Public Library for Art 101: Feminist Art Movement. Discover how this artistic movement took off and inspired artist from the 1960s to today. Then on March 28 the South Creek branch invites you to She Steps to the Mic, an interactive, multimedia program celebrating the female pioneers of hip-hop and rap music trailing back to the genres beginnings in the 1970s.
