An applicant by the name of Jean Abi-Aoun has submitted a request with the City of Orlando to be permitted to build a new apartment project on the southwestern shore of Lake Copeland, just across the street from The Delaney Hotel and Tavern, at 1221 S. Orange Avenue [GMap].

If granted their request, the developer would build a six-story, 118-unit apartment project, currently being referred to as “Lake Copeland Apartments,” that would also include groundfloor retail and restaurants, as well as some office use. Check out the designs below.

The project is tentatively scheduled for a public hearing at the Municipal Planning Board meeting on April 21 at City Hall.

  1. Hopefully this development is REJECTED! Developer not prepared to answer pertinent questions at community meeting and far more concerns remain to make this a viable development that does not negatively encroach upon the historically controlled Lake Copeland neighborhood and its residents!
