RENDERING BY ROCCHETTA

That museum that The Girl Scouts of Citrus Council are building in Colonialtown is inching closer to earning its “realness” merit badge.

We told you HERE in August 2019 that the local Girl Scouts council was converting its office building at 341 N. Mills Avenue [GMap] into a new Women’s History and Cultural Center celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of the women of Central Florida, our state, and the nation.

A groundbreaking celebration for the new Women’s History and Cultural Center will be held on Thursday, March 12, 3-5 p.m., during National Women’s History Month, marking 100 years since the passing of the 19t Amendment which gave women the right to vote. March 12th is also National Girl Scout Day, which recognizes the anniversary of the first Girl Scout meeting which was held in 1912.
