Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions (Facebook | Website) has issued a plea to area residents to refrain from buying pet rabbits as Easter approaches.
The months following Easter always see a spike in surrendered rabbits, according to ORCA, and they’re usually prepared each year but this year, due to COVID-19, the group is already at capacity and the holiday hasn’t even hit yet.
Currently, ORCA’s foster network is overflowing with stray rabbits that are ready to be rehomed, but due to the pandemic, pets of all species are being dumped by families and individuals that are unable to care for them.
Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions is reminding Orlandoans that rabbits are a commitment.
