Signs of community during a pandemic

-

Orlando is looking a little empty right now.

Non-essential (at least to the government) businesses have had to shut their doors and it’s hard not to notice the palpable effect that has on our cityscape as you commute to your local grocery store or curbside restaurant pickup.

An estimated 10 million Americans have lost their jobs and are being forced to communicate with digital conference software, text messages, and smoke signals. But what’s really catching our eyes are the signs.

Messages are popping up in windows, on roadsides, and on the sides of buildings and we wanted the people writing them to know that we hear them. We see you. You’re essential to us.

Here’s a little roundup of some of the signs we’ve been seeing in The City Beautiful. Special thank you to local photographer Cindy Rosten Murray who sent us some great shots from her essential travels around town.

Editor’s Note: Want to send us a photo of a sign that caught your eye? Send it to [email protected] and tell us where you saw it. We’ll include it in a future sign roundup next week!
