The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and a steering committee of community leaders have joined together to lead a new initiative to combat the impacts of the pandemic.

Thrive Winter Park (Website) is a new 501-c (3) initiative that will have three primary focuses:

  1. Assess the impacts and communicate with the Winter Park community about available resources.
  2. Stratify emerging priorities and model economic recovery.
  3. Build capacity for a robust recovery.

The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has donated $35,000, $30,000 of which will be used to hire an economist to help assess the impacts and resources needed to build a model. The remaining $5,000 will be used to purchase food from local restaurants as part of their new Feed the Frontline initiative to provide food to frontline health workers. They are currently accepting donations to purchase meals on the website linked above.
