Forced to close their theaters to the public during the pandemic, Orlando Shakes (Facebook | Website) seems to have been driven to drink.

Their upcoming production of Shakesbeer: Romeo and Juliet Edition is all about theater under the influence. Orlando Shakes will host an interactive digital performance of an abridged version of Romeo and Juliet on Friday, May 1 at 6 p.m. via their Facebook page where the audience will be encouraged to drink at home throughout the production.

The performance is about an hour long and will feature a number of drinking games encouraging you to drink at specific parts of the performance. The actors, broadcasting from their homes in various parts of the country, will also be drinking. It sounds like a tragic comedy in the making.

The performance is free to enjoy and will the first of an entire series of drinking game/theatrical performances.
