Just because we’re in the middle of a pandemic with the name of a Mexican beer that’s making us avoid gathering in large groups doesn’t mean we are able to ignore the fact that Cinco de Mayo falls on a Taco Tuesday this year. We’ve rounded up some great Cinco deals from around our “bungalow neighborhood” coverage area in downtown Orlando and Winter Park for you to take advantage of.

Bringing back their Taco Tuesday BBQ Street Tacos special which includes three tacos with your choice of brisket, pulled pork, or pulled chicken, and a fountain drink for $8.89. All smokehouses will continue to operate the pop-up drive-thru services and will open limited outdoor seating areas in accordance with state and local requirements for social distancing.

A La Carte’s food trucks will be leaning into the holiday this year. PokeKai will be opening for lunch and dinner on May 5 to serve up some specialty tacos that you won’t find on their regular menu. Bad Ass Sandwich (Website) – The Milk District

The folks at Bad Ass Sandwich know what they’re doing, you guys. They are offering this special “El Mariachi” which has chargrilled ribeye, chorizo cantimpalo, charred corn relish, Chihuahua cheese (the region, not the dog), pickled onions, and green chili aioli. Every Mariachi order comes with a free Pachanga beer.

Black Rooster Taqueria (Website)Mills 50

Bulla Gastrobar (Website)Winter Park

Our friends at Bulla Gastrobar in Winter Park are all about the Spanish Margarita this year with 12-ounce bottles available for $15.

Chuy’s (Website)Winter Park

Chuy’s is selling everything, party kits for $20, meal kits with enchiladas, nachos, tacos, and guac, and Cinco de Drinko kits with margarita fixings, and beer for $3 a bottle.

Cilantro’s Taqueria (Website) – Hourglass District

What can we say here? They’re selling margaritas for $1 with your regular order. Load up and stay home.

You can get a Cinco De MAyo Home Edition Package that includes one whole jug of margaritas, a six-pack of beer, chips and salsa, queso blanco, chicken quesadillas, grilled chicken and ground beef taco meat, taco toppings, rice and beans, and more. The Double D is a hard shell tortilla wrapped lovingly by a soft tortilla filled with your choice of protein. They’re the ultimate creation to end your night with if you’re drinking downtown, sans pandemic.

Hunger Street Tacos (Website)Winter Park

Hunger Street has a special place in our heart. They’re delicious. They’re artful. They know what they’re doing. And they teamed up with the folks from Gideon’s in East End Market to sell those amazing cookies all through the pandemic. Game changer. These guys are delivering too.

MX Tacos (Website) – The Milk District

THIS BABY EATING A FRESH TORTILLA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR SPECIALS – WE JUST THINK HE’S ADORABLE.

One of the smallest Mexican spots in The City Beautiful, MX Tacos packs one of the biggest punches with their food. They’ll be offering two tacos and a beer all day for just $8. Try the al pastor if they have it.

Pepe’s Cantina Winter Park (Website)Winter Park

Pepe’s is pulling out all the stops this year with quarts of house-made margaritas and sangria available for $20, and $3.99 tequila shots, Tecate Light, Tecate, and single margaritas and sangria glasses all day. Their tables are spaced six-feet apart and all staff will be wearing gloves and masks if you’re interested in dining in but takeout is available.

Reyes Mezcaleria (Website)North Quarter

Reyes Mezcaleria will be closed for Cinco but they’re hosting a pop-up at their sister restaurant, The Osprey Tavern in Baldwin Park. You can choose from taco, enchiladas, ceviche, and empanada packages ranging from $24-$65 for meals for four people as well as some add one of croquettes, queso fundido, and chips and salsa combos. Tamale Co. Mexican Street Food (Website)Hourglass District

We don’t need to rewrite any of this since it’s all in their super-handy flyer above. Tamale Co. started as a food truck and now they’re one of the most popular restaurants in the Hourglass District. Get that free 1/2 gallon jug of margaritas with your family pack order and call it a day.

Tijuana Flats (Website) – Various locations

The locally-founded chain is celebrating the holiday with five days of deals this year, including a Dos Tacos Deal with two tacos, chips, and a drink for $5.99. You can double stack your tacos for just $1.50 extra. Available for curbside pickup, to-go, or delivery.
