T.G. Lee Dairy’s 7.8-acre warehouse site in The Milk District has sold to the Dairy Farmers of America for $5.8 million.

Dean Foods, the previous owners of T.G. Lee Dairy, was purchased by the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) during a bankruptcy auction earlier in the year.

The Florida Dairy Farmers paid for a cow-inspired mural to be painted on the side of the building in October 2019 just in time for National Farmer’s Day. The factory building has been around since the 1950s and the business was founded by Thomas Gilbert Lee.

A spokesperson for DFA told Bungalower that the purchase would have no real effect at all on operation at the local plant at 315 N. Bumby Avenue [GMap] nor another local plant in Orange City and tha have new ownership is a “… really good thing.”
