Plans have been submitted to rezone a property along the Orlando Urban Trail from Industrial to Mixed-Use to allow for the construction of a bar on a piece of property in Ivanhoe Village.

The project paperwork calls for a proposed remodel of an industrial warehouse located at 724 Brookhaven Drive [GMap] that would serve beer and wine to patrons with dogs. Plans include an onsite area for two food trucks to operate from, a fenced-in off-leash area for dogs, and an on-leash area, as well as a fire pit area with outdoor seating.

Plans also call to connect the development to the Orlando Urban Trail through a rear entrance gate.

Initial operating hours are expected to be from noon until midnight, with operations eventually expanding to morning hours and 2 a.m. closing.

This project is still working through approvals with the City of Orlando and will be voted on by the Municipal Planning Board at the July 21 meeting at City Hall. If approved, the development team hopes to start construction by the end of the year.

  1. I am a beer and dog enthusiast and I think this is a terrible idea. I also have no idea how they will connect the back entrance to the urban trail without that being a safety hazard. I’m also very interested in seeing how the permits pan out for this and how the owners navigate the health department, ie serving beer and allowing dogs.
