The Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park (Facebook | Website) has closed.

Theater owner Wade Hair announced via Facebook Live that they would not be reopening the Winter Park-based theater due to complications brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park had been closed since March 13 and due to restrictions on audience sizes, the small theater would only be able to accommodate up to 10 people at any one time during shows. As such, Hair decided to close the theater, rather than continue to ask supporters for further financial help, and announced that he would rebrand the business as Breakthrough Theatre Company and focus on streaming performances for the near future.

Breakthrough Theatre has been in operation for 11 years and was located at 419 W. Fairbanks Avenue [GMap] between The Ravenous Pig and Keke’s Breakfast Cafe.
