A vacant 1.3-acre property at 1006 W. Colonial Drive [GMap] in Parramore, could soon house a six-story mixed-use development with a hotel if approved by the City of Orlando.

The property was originally approved for a Dunkin’ Donut/shopping strip development but has sat untouched ever since. The new proposal, helmed by Brooklyn-based developer Aron Herczl, would have dining and retail uses on the ground floor and a 36-room hotel over the retail. An additional 79 residential units would also be included – 50 one-bedroom measuring 678 SF and 29 two-bedroom units measuring 850-1,071 SF.

The plans also include a parking garage with 143 spaces and planned spaces for bike racks to help qualify it for a density bonus that would allow for a taller project that the property is zoned for.

Nearby landmarks include the Ambassador Hotel and the McRae Art Studios.
