The Baptist Terrace senior housing tower located at 414 E. Pine Street [GMap] in downtown Orlando has sold to new owners, Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation.
The tower was built in 1970 to serve as affordable senior housing just one block south of Lake Eola and has convenient access to local shops and Publix grocery, the only grocer in downtown Orlando.
The tower features 197 studio and one-bedroom apartments which will all be completely renovated moving forward to make them energy-efficient. Residents will be shuffled between vacant units while the work is carried out.
The Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation is a non-profit housing development company that owns 13 communities in Central Florida.
