That bouldering gym we told you about HERE in January 2020 is almost ready to open for business.

Finland-based Moments Climbing (Website) is opening a new $1.3 million climbing gym in the former home of Real Thread Inc., in Parramore at 400 Pittman Street [GMap] just outside of Creative Village. The 15,000 SF Blue Swan Boulders (Facebook | Website), originally named “Swan City Boulders” before a dust-up with a local t-shirt company, will feature a 7,000 SF bouldering wall, free weights and equipment, and a coffee bar. The gym will also offer climbing equipment rentals.

This will be the first American location for the Scandinavia-based climbing company, which will feature eight different color-coded levels of difficulty, with yellow walls being the easiest and black being the most challenging. The specific colors were chosen to work best with climbers who are colorblind as well. Courses will be regularly swapped out each week with complete gym turnover every six weeks.

Blue Swan Boulders will operate from noon-9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on the weekends with a cap on the amount of climbers allowed inside at one time to keep people safe during the pandemic. A widget on their website will share how many people are inside the gym to allow guests to plan their visits accordingly.

The gym will be cleaned daily with an electro-static sprayer and the climbing holds will be swapped out regularly. Climbers will also be given liquid chalk instead of the standard chalk, that is mixed with an alcohol solution to disinfect while climbing and using the facilities.

Blue Swan Boulders is hoping to open as soon as possible and are awaiting their Certificate of Occupancy from the City of Orlando. Work is almost complete and they expect to be open for business in the next week or so.
