JUMP Bikes has submitted an application to bring dockless e-bike share to town.
JUMP, which had already been issued a permit to operate a dockless system in the City of Orlando, decided against launching a fleet in May 2019, citing a desire to weigh its options on other forms of transportation like scooters before coming to the area.
JUMP has since filed a Dockless Bicycle Sharing Permit Application with City Hall, citing restrictions like a geofenced area that would not allow riding or parking in the “Orange Avenue Entertainment Area” between the hours of 11 p.m.-4 a.m. Thursday to Sunday. That includes Garland Avenue to the west, Jefferson Street to the north, Magnolia Avenue to the east, and Church Street to the south.
The project also includes racks for scooter share at locations like the downtown Publix.
This is early in the permit process and we do not have a launch date for the fleet at this time.
