A long-ignored house/workshop building has been converted into a trendy new retail shop at 1308 Lang Avenue [GMap] near Pig Floyd’s and Quantum Leap on the edge of Mills 50 and Ivanhoe Village.

The House on Lang (Facebook | Website) is a retail shop with a little bit of everything from local artwork, jewelry, gifts, and home goods to a curated selection of vintage clothing for men and women. Guests will even be able to pick from the vinyl collection on-site and play a record of their choice while shopping. Everything is for sale in the new shop, but not all of the vinyl, so be sure to ask before you add it to your pile.

An adjoined garage at the back of the building has been converted into a space for workshops and rentals. People can use it to host their own workshops or attend events that The House on Lang crew will be hosting on a regular basis. The workshop space also opens to a large outdoor area with market lighting and socially-distant seating for private parties.

The House on Lang is celebrating a soft-opening this weekend with three days of programming:

  • Friday – Food by Gentrys BBQ and Cholo Dogs
  • Saturday – Food by Naked Cupcake (taking pre-orders) and Maya Rosa and live music from 4-6 p.m.
  • Sunday – 018 Food Truck Edition and Otus Coffee.
