The Orange County government is investing $5 million for a new program that would create social distancing-compliant performance spaces at public parks.
Availability is a first-come, first-served basis but groups must have insurance to be able to book and rent park facilities. Orange County Parks and Recreation staff will also be creating temporary circles on the ground near the performance spaces that can fit four to six spectators at a time to encourage people to attend the events in socially-distant pods or groups.
Orange County will provide a stage, tents, chairs, basic sound equipment, and restrooms for the events. Click HERE for more information on the program, including fees.
The new Arts in Public Parks program will allow for performances and activities to take place in the following parks:
- West Orange Park, 150 Windermere Road, Winter Garden
- Carcona Horse Park, 3535 Damon Road, Apopka
- Cypress Grove Park, 290 Holden Avenue, Orlando
- Meadow Woods Park, 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle, Orlando
- Fort Christmas Park, 1300 Fort Christmas Road, Christmas
- Barnett Park, 4801 W. Colonial Drive
The funding comes from the CARES Act.
