The City of Winter Park is considering a possible ban on single-use plastic at city events and venues.

The move is scheduled to be considered at an upcoming public meeting on November 11 at the Winter Park Community Center where it will be discussed before giving final approval for the program.

The ban would apply to all City-owned building, facility, or park and would prevent vendors from using plastic-based products like plates, plastic bags, straws, and Polystyrene containers.

If passed, the City will not be renewing contracts with current vendors who choose not to abide by the single-use plastic ban.

Orlando banned single-use items in June 2019, more on that HERE.
