2/25 UPDATE: The Lake Alert for Lake Rowena has been lifted. Please resume all normal water activities associated with the lake.

The City of Orlando has closed Lake Rowena to water-contact activities due to the elevated presence of microcystins in the water.

The elevated levels are believed to be a result of a recent algae bloom in the lake and have been deemed too high to be safe for human contact.

The City of Orlando will continue to monitor the levels in the lake.
