A previously approved brewery project in Parramore that inevitably bit the dust has unexpectedly found legs again and is slowly coming back to the land of the living.
Tubbs Brewing, which we originally wrote about HERE in September 2016, was being spearheaded by the team at Wall St. Plaza but hit a roadblock at City Hall when the city impact fees started to reach an estimated price tag of over $100,000.
The property, located on the corner of 617 W. Central Boulevard [GMap], was given a Conditional Use Permit to be used as a short-term pop-up bar, The Yard Bar (Facebook), for Orlando City games while negotiations took place but time eventually ran out and the property was sold to new owner, Lamont Garber.
Garber may be familiar to our readers as he’s also the man behind the renovation of the former State Auto Body development in Winter Park which now houses Bear and Peacock Brewery, Foxtail Coffee and Foxtail Farmhouse, as well as the currently under-renovation 90-year-old United Trophy property at 610 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] in downtown Orlando.
It has now come to our attention at Bungalower that Interstruct Design + Build (Website), the original project architect, has been working on updating the plans and has resubmitted them to the City of Orlando for inspection at the behest of Garber.
While the original name of the project was “Tubbs Brewing” the current paperwork is filed under the project name “Central City Station.”
A project timeline has not been made public at this time.
