The City of Orlando approved a motion to officially start the design work on a proposed cycle path on Pine Street in downtown Orlando.
We first told you about the project HERE in March 2020. The protected, 10-foot, two-way cycle path will be part of the 8.5-mile Orlando Bicylce Beltway project that will allow riders to travel throughout downtown Orlando via connectors on Gertrude’s Walk and the Orlando Urban Trail, as well as planned routes along Lake Underhill and Anderson Streets.
The path will be separated from East Pine Street commuters via a three-foot concrete buffer.
Funding for the $1,800,000 project will come from the City of Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Bond.
Completion of the project is estimated for Spring 2023.
Previous article said Spring 2021 it would be finished, why the long delay?
How does this affect the lanes on Pine St for our cars? Will Pine St be reduced to a one-way all along this route? Please give us more details. I live in the Waverly and we enter and exist our garage on Pine St. Thanks
