Tabebuia trees are one of the approved tree types that the City of Orlando gives out each year at Arbor Day and they’re the subtle champion tree that we want everyone to have in their yards. They are drought resistant, like full-sun, and they bloom for a number of weeks each spring, like right now.
That’s right, it’s spring.
Tabebuia trees can also be purchased and planted in City parks as part of the City’s Dedicated Tree Program. Trees measuring 3″ caliper and 14′ tall can be purchased for $500 and planted in a park to honor a group, individual, or organization. The fee also pays for the planting and irrigation.
Each tree planted brings us one step closer to being the tabebuia capital of the world that we all demand and deserve.
