MILK CRATE FURNITURE AT MARKET ON SOUTH

Bungalower Media and the Milk District Main Street collaborated on a public art/placemaking project in September 2020, that was recently given an award by the American Advertising Federation’s Orlando chapter.

AAF-Orlando recognized our Milk Crate Furniture project with an American Advertising Award in the Out of Home and Ambient Media – Guerrilla Marketing category.

Bungalower Media and the Milk District were awarded $1,000 from the local chapter of the Awesome Foundation to fund the project, which was topped off with an added donation from local developers Elise Sabatino and Giovanni Fernandez. The funds were used to hire local woodworker/artist Robert Henry Thompson (Instagram) to design and build the furniture for us, using over 864 zip ties.

The milkcrate street furniture is now available for use at the following Milk District businesses, and is used to encourage more outdoor dining during the pandemic.

  1. Congrats! Very cool idea for a great Orlando district. (One more reason why I’m leaving Tampa and returning to my hometown of O’Ville).
