3/6 UPDATE: The Lake Alert for Lake Estelle has been lifted. At this time, there are no toxins present in Lake Estelle, but blooms may still occur.

Lake Estelle has been closed to public water-contact activities.

The City of Orlando took samples from the lake and found potentially unsafe levels of microcystins in the water, believed to be the result of a recent algae bloom.

The City will continue to monitor the lake’s water quality until the toxins have reached a more acceptable level.

The last Lake Alert issued for Lake Estelle was on January 7, 2021.
