Former commissioner Phil Anderson has been named as the winner of the 2021 mayoral race.

As of the time of this post, Anderson claimed the win with roughly 53 percent of the almost 8,000 votes filed on Tuesday, March 9, beating out his opponent, Sarah Sprinkel.

Anderson now faces a number of challenges including rebuilding a rocky relationship with the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, tackling the Orange Avenue Overlay district and the development of Progress Point, and the controversial purchase of private land near Lake Rose to expand Fairbanks Avenue.

Anderson’s campaign shared the following message on his social accounts late last night in regards to his win.
