“As a community, we’ve worked hard to grow and nurture a strong tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem and with this new partnership, today, we further that effort to ensure every resident has an equal opportunity to start and grow a business that allows them to thrive in Orlando.”

– ORLANDO MAYOR DYER

The Orlando City Council just voted to approve a funding agreement with Black Orlando Tech (Facebook | Website), a local nonprofit organization that works to accelerate minority economic advancement by increasing the awareness, activities, networking opportunities, and resources for local minorities pursuing careers and businesses in technology.

Black Orlando Tech will now work with Orange County Government and the City of Orlando to identify specific priorities that the region should pursue to grow and sustain more a more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem over the next 12 months, by creating a strategic plan to address racial injustices and economic inequalities that exist for minority entrepreneurs.

Black Orlando Tech will also be partnering with Forward Cities (Facebook | Website), a national nonprofit that has a history of helping communities grow and sustain more equitable ecosystems for entrepreneurs.
