Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida (Facebook | Website) has opened a new production kitchen and storage facility to support its growing operations in the region.
The new 20,000 SF Mercy Kitchen is located at 3702 Mercy Star Court [GMap], just two miles away from its main warehouse. The new space includes an expanded production kitchen, a cooler and freezer area, dry storage, and six receiving and distribution bay doors.
According to a release volunteers and staff at this location will be able to produce more than 115,000 meals a week at the new building.
Mercy Kitchen will also house Second Harvest’s new social entrepreneurial projects like its signature product line, A Spoon Full of Hope.
