The Ox School of Construction Resource Center (Website) has filed paperwork with the City of Orlando to host a regular outdoor market on a vacant lot in West Orlando.

The group is asking for a Temporary Use Permit to allow for a market that would accommodate roughly 20 vendors and two food trucks every Saturday at 1006 W. Colonial Drive [GMap]. Vendors would include artists, construction professionals, job resources, educational and training resources, networking opportunities, and similar uses.

The project is being pitched for a one-year window, expiring in April 2022 and is marked for approval at the upcoming City Commission meeting on April 12.

Funds raised by the market would go towards supporting the organization’s nonprofit construction trade school, which trains youth and military veterans in construction work.
