The City of Orlando is offering free trees to residents as part of their Energy-Saving Trees program, supported by the Orlando Utilities Commission, Florida Forest Service, and Arbor Day Foundation.
Residents are able to get one of the following trees for their yards:
- Crapemyrtle “Natchez”
- Dahoon Holly
- Sweetbay Magnolia
- Tulip Poplar
By strategically adding three to four mature shade trees to your yard, you can save up to 30 percent on your summer cooling costs.

Good day . I am on the tree board with the city of Belle Isle. We are haveing a tree give away on May 15th , at our city hall in observence of Arbour day. Would it be possible to aquire some of your trees to add to our donation options? Thanks and have a great day!
Douglas, you would need to contact the City of Orlando, not us.
I love this program, but when can we start adding trees to our business corridors – like Colonial Drive?
