Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that he will be suspending all remaining local COVID-19 orders. #FootStomp
DeSantis stated that the decision was made because he didn’t believe added measures were needed anymore now that the vaccine was so readily available.
“I think folks that are saying they need to be policing people at this point, if you’re saying that, then you’re really saying you don’t believe in the vaccines.”

DeSantis also recently signed legislation that will make it illegal to require vaccine passports.
The legislation will take effect on July 1 but Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings has since stated that his team will be waiting to see a copy of the Governor’s Executive Order before making any decisions on what it means for Orange County.
“When I ask myself, ‘What is really the purpose of the governor’s actions?’ I conclude that his actions are part of a larger partisan strategy by the Republican Party to usurp the authority of Democrat-led urban counties and cities across America. We expect better from the governor of Florida.”

Demings has previously stated that he will not allow DeSantis to control the local response to the pandemic.
No masks, no social distancing. CoVID, do your thing.
