The City of Winter Park will host its 26th annual 4th of July Celebration on Monday, July 5th from 9 a.m. to noon in Central Park.

While I can’t resist suggesting they call it an Independence Day Celebration instead, the event is free and open to the public and still bound to be lots of family-friendly fun no matter the date.

The event will kick off with opening remarks by newly-elected mayor Phil Anderson, followed by an Oath of Allegiance naturalization ceremony for a number of citizenship applicants. The event will also feature “patriotic music” by the Bach Festival Choir and Brass Ensemble, local musician Sean Holcomb, and a special performance by Orange County Public School’s Top Talent finalist Elvis Avetis.

The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will celebrate 26 years of being located on Park Avenue with an Independence Day Open House with free admission from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The City of Winter Park celebrated virtually last year via YouTube.
