“Despite knowing we had a prime location on Park Avenue, we were overwhelmed by the
enormous amount of interest in our space given the continuing challenges in the restaurant
industry. We are absolutely convinced we selected the right concept and the right people with
whom to move forward,”

BILL BATTAGLIA, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF BATTAGLIA GROUP

We told you HERE in April 2021 about the new Mediterranean concept called “AVA” that is being planned for the former home of Luma on Park on Winter Park’s trendy Park Avenue, but it seems as if the former owners of the space, Park Lights Hospitality Group, aren’t quite done with it yet.

While buildout activity is already underway for the new restaurant, Luma On Park, LLC, which occupied the former bank for the past 15 years, has filed a Complaint for Damages and Injunctive Relief against the building owner for relief and damages expected to exceed $5 million and are allegedly trying to get the space back.

AVA’s parent company, Miami-based MILA, expects to open its new “MediterrAegean”-themed restaurant at 290 S. Park Avenue [GMap] sometime in late 2021.
