We told you HERE in April 2021 that the Dr. Philllips Center for Performing Arts (Facebook | Website) was looking to extend its outdoor event series, the Frontyard Festival, into the end of the year and it appears they were just granted the funding to do so.

“The Frontyard Festival is an innovative way for our citizens to gather and enjoy a cultural experience while also employing a diverse array of musicians, performers, and local restaurants impacted by the pandemic.”

ORANGE COUNTY MAYOR DEMINGS

The series was originally scheduled to end in May 2021 but the Orange County Board of County Commissioners just agreed to give the performing arts center an additional $500,000 from funds awarded in turn via the federal American Rescue Plan, to continue until mid-December.

The festival will feature more seating boxes that are located closer together to accommodate more people, almost 2,500 more people infact, now that social distancing has been relaxed and facial coverings will now be optional when attending performances.

Food and drinks will continue to be delivered to the box seats during the shows.
