“We’re going to bring it back to it’s original glory.”

– ROMI MAWARDI, TEAM MARKET GROUP CO-OWNER

Milk District landmark, Colonial Lanes, has been sitting empty since it was closed in 2018 and carved up by Titan Properties to build a self-storage development behind the Colonial Plaza.

Since then, the remaining slice of the original bowling alley has been passed between local do-good developers like Phil Rampy and then Giovanni and Elise Fernandez from National Real Estate, before ultimately landing in the hands of its new owners, Team Market Group.

Team Market Group is known for its historically-themed/restored properties including downtown hits like Mathers Social Gathering, Ann Teague’s Lamp Supply, and The Wellborn.

Romi Mawardi, the co-founder of Team Market Group that he created with his brother Keith, told Bungalower that he’s looking forward to restoring the property to its “glory days” and that demolition work has already started. The final design will feature the eight remaining lanes of the original bowling alley, as well as a 3,000 SF Robinson Cafe space themed after the company’s existing Robinson Room in downtown Orlando, the infamous/beloved sunken bar area at the front of the building is being restored, and a 7,000 SF personal training facility run by D1 Training (Website) will be added as well.

As for a project timeline, when asked Romi Mawardi told us, “The timeline is ASAP and it’s one of our main focuses this year.

Colonial Lanes is located at 400 Primrose Drive [GMap].

  1. I am wondering about the original sign. Is there any chance that it will be recreated and reused?

  2. Super excited for the community. I represented the buyer on the purchase and they are working really hard to get things open before the end of the year. As we all know the Mawardi Brothers have some of the best entertainment venues in Orlando so I’m confident this will be a great success.
