RENDERING OF "COMPLETE" CORRINE DRIVE

The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill that includes over $28 million in funding for eight Central Florida projects that include modernized roads, bridges, public transit systems, and trails.

The “Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation in America Act” or “INVEST in America Act” was spearheaded by U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park.

“Central Florida is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, and I’m incredibly proud to secure these important infrastructure investments for our region,”

– U.S. CONGRESSWOMAN STEPHANIE MURPHY

The bill includes the following for the two local projects:

  • $6,900,000 for the Corrine Drive Complete Streets project – This project will address current safety issues in the Audubon Park corridor by remodeling the street to add bike lanes, ADA-compliant sidewalks, shade trees, and by lowering traffic congestion and allowing for greater foot traffic in the area for small businesses.
  • $945,832 for the State Road 50/Colonial Drive project – This will allow for new traffic signals, upgraded sidewalks and crosswalks, and improved lighting along the corridor.
