The City of Orlando released two male black-necked swans into Lake Eola in July 2019 in an effort to pair up the widowed “Queenie” and find her a mate. That effort seems to have paid off as Queenie ultimately made her decision to neck with the hottest stud on the block, “Big Boy,” and have some babies.
Those three cygnets were taken into custody along with the parents once they hatched to protect them from harm and potential theft and were just released this morning into the lake.
We were there to watch as the mayor and District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan helped parks employees to release them.
