Orange County Library System’s August calendar is full of events and programs for all ages. Some highlights include the One Minute Film Festival, featuring screenings of short films that reflect the world we live in, and a Podcast Discussion Group – like a book club, but for podcasts.

Shakespeare LIVE! 
Monday, August 2, 6–8 p.m. 

Enjoy the witty words and playful romance of Rosalind and Orlando. Read and perform excerpts from William Shakespeare’s delightful comedy, As You Like It. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Fifty-Two Weeks of Gratitude

Life Screenings International Short Film Festival explores what happens when a film festival and public library mash-up. Films are chosen on the basis that they show a world we love to live in. 

Finding Your Writing Community

Author Esme Symes-Smith will discuss online writing communities and how to join them, including finding critique partners, curbing your ego, and how working on other people’s books can help yours. 

Qigong Summer Cooldown 
Tuesday, August 17, 10:30 a.m. 

Jasmine Win shows basic qigong techniques and how using them in your daily life can benefit your health. Qigong is a crucial tool in Chinese medicine which involves movement, breathing, and meditation. 

Let’s Talk: Podcast Discussion Group
