Due to the nationwide staffing shortage in the service industry, a number of local restaurants have been forced to cut back on operating hours. Pom Pom’s Teahouse and Sandwicheria (Facebook | Website) in the Milk District were forced to do just that but rather than letting her kitchen sit idle, Pom Moongauklang chose to open it up to some of her favorite local pop-ups and ghost kitchens instead.

Meng’s Kitchen (Facebook | Website) will be the first of what Pom hopes will be many pop-ups from 5-10 p.m. Monday, August 2 at Pom Pom’s, which is located at 71 N. Bumby Avenue [GMap].

Meng’s Kitchen, operated by Chiang Mai-born Chef Asawin “AJ” Jockkeaw, specializes in Thai-style Hainanese chicken and rice and traditional Isaan dishes from north Thailand. Dishes will include a delicious roasted chicken dish, Thai coconut chicken soup, five-spice braised pork belly, a vegan curry cauliflower dish, and more.

Future pop-ups have yet to be announced but Pom told Bungalower to stay tuned for some possible events from Git-N-Messy’s Chris Poulos and veggie goodies from V’s Diner.
