We told you HERE in June 2021 that The Hideaway Bar (Facebook | Website) had acquiesced to the persistent offers of a developer to abandon ship and move across the street into a new 3,600 SF building that would be built just for them, complete with a wraparound patio.
The land swap will allow the developer, Chance Gordy, to fully develop the southside of Virginia Drive, bookending it with two large mixed-use sites rather than being forced to build around The Hideaway property as originally planned – which you can see in the original rendering below.
Plans for the seven-story The Yard at Brookhaven project (the original working name, The Yard — Crossman Site, has since changed) include a new 0.34-acre park, 24,100 SF of new retail and restaurant uses, a new parking garage with 500 spaces, and 265 new apartment/condominium units.
A construction timeline for this project is not public at this time.
Too bad they couldn’t have done this for The Venue 🙄
